1. Scope
Five Fifteen Labs, LLC operates PacketPacks and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to PacketPacks websites, applications, account communications, support, and related services. It does not govern data that APRS-IS, radio operators, Google, Stripe, Cloudflare, Callook, or other third parties collect independently.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication information
We collect your callsign, email address, password hash, email-verification status, account dates, legal acknowledgments, organization memberships, session identifiers, IP address, browser user agent, and security or recovery records.
Public license and APRS information
We query Callook using your callsign to validate public FCC license information. PacketPacks receives and parses a filtered stream of public APRS-IS packets. When a packet’s normalized source callsign matches a registered base callsign, we may store and associate it with that account, including source and destination callsigns, path, packet type, latitude, longitude, symbol, comment, raw packet, parsed fields, and timestamps. Network, queue, error, and security systems may handle packets transiently before the registered-callsign match is evaluated.
Game, organization, and support information
We collect packs, cards, claims, place interactions, achievements, experience, notifications, collection progress, activity, organization roles and invitations, preferences, and messages you send to support. If mini-games are offered, we may also collect eligibility and access records, attempts, game inputs, scores, completion, results, progression, and virtual rewards.
Membership and technical information
We store Stripe customer, product, price, subscription, status, and billing period identifiers. Stripe, not PacketPacks, processes complete payment-card details. Our infrastructure may also record request, error, security, delivery, and operational logs.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, recover, and support accounts.
- Validate callsigns and maintain organization access.
- Process public APRS packets associated with registered callsigns and determine free game eligibility.
- Show nearby Places, maps, collection progress, and account activity.
- Operate free or membership mini-games, apply progression and access requirements, record results, deliver virtual rewards, and prevent abuse.
- Provide membership, billing status, and customer-portal access.
- Send verification, recovery, invitation, and service messages.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, interference, and security incidents.
- Debug, maintain, improve, and comply with legal obligations.
4. APRS and browser location
APRS is public. A packet can reveal a precise location, timestamp, route, equipment-related identifiers, and free-form comments to PacketPacks and to unrelated third parties. PacketPacks automatically associates qualifying packets with an account when the normalized source callsign matches that account’s registered callsign. PacketPacks does not provide an APRS-specific monitoring opt-in or opt-out.
Browser location is requested when you open a map or nearby Places feature. Your browser asks for permission before sharing it. Exact coordinates are sent to the PacketPacks server to calculate nearby Places and are not intentionally saved to your account. Your browser and infrastructure providers may still process the request.
PacketPacks does not publicly display exact historical movement trails or exact claim history by default and does not use location history for unrelated advertising or marketing.
6. Retention
Raw APRS packets stored for registered callsigns are retained for no more than five hours before scheduled deletion. Account deletion removes retained raw packets and the current telemetry summary for your callsign. Previously earned game history remains until account deletion.
Account, legal-acceptance, organization, claim, collection, achievement, mini-game, and other game records generally remain while your account exists. Activity is presented in a 90-day feed and is cleaned as the service runs. Sessions, verification records, and recovery records expire according to their security purpose.
After account deletion, limited payment, fraud-prevention, security, legal, backup, and processor records may remain for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Public APRS packets held by APRS-IS or other recipients cannot be erased by PacketPacks.
8. Your choices and requests
You can deny or revoke browser location permission, change your email or password, cancel paid membership through Stripe, and permanently delete your account and game data. PacketPacks does not offer an APRS-specific monitoring control. Deleting your account ends future account association after deletion completes but does not remove packets already received or distributed by APRS-IS or other independent recipients.
You may request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your account by emailing support@fivefifteenlabs.com. We may verify your identity and retain information when required or permitted by law. Rights vary by location.
9. Security and U.S. processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, password hashing, restricted server-side credential routes, session controls, webhook verification, access controls, and retention limits. No service can guarantee absolute security.
PacketPacks is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
10. Age restriction
PacketPacks is not designed for or offered to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as PacketPacks changes. We will post the revised date and provide reasonable notice of material changes through the service or account email. We may ask you to acknowledge a materially revised policy.
